Ashley Jacot De Boinod is the founder of Parkdale’s brand new hot spot *Glory Hole Doughnuts*. She began producing her innovative doughnuts — including among them the first maple bacon doughnuts to hit the city — over a year ago and developed a rabid fan base long before she revealed plans to open a dedicated storefront.
“2 years ago, while I was working at BUCA, I had the idea that I wanted to open up a shop of my own.” says Jacot De Boinod. “I hadn’t thought of what yet, I just knew that I wanted to do something on my own. So I asked myself ‘what is my favourite sweet treat of all time?’ At the time I smoked so, the obvious answer was a coffee, doughnut, and of course, a cigarette to follow. I had the idea! Now was the hard part…..developing it. It took me a while to figure things out but, I finally got it. ”
This Saturday (Aug 25th) Glory Hole opened its doors to rave reviews.
” It has been a long, hard journey but in the end, it has all been worth it. I now have my own shop and I get to see people enjoying my product! I’ts such an amazing feeling hearing people in the front while I fry away!”
