What’s a typical day like for you?
A typical day starts between 5:30-6:00 AM. It’s an interchanging of hour-by-hour meetings intertwined with my 5 kids and husband.
I normally work for the earlier part of the day, so I am available by 6 for dinner with my family and have a busy evening life.
Days are never typical… things can change and evolve by the hour!
What in your life is really important to you?
Ensuring I’m fulfilling a higher purpose and lifting others up. Of course, my family is important – especially making sure all of my 5 kids feel fulfilled. My highlight and spending play time with my 3-year-old and learning from her inquisitive nature.
What would you like to be remembered for?
I want to be remembered for my impact on others lives and the world. I am preparing for bigger things and believe I’m on the right trajectory, so 2020 will be all about execution and disruption. To help others at this level, I rely on those like your readership to advocate and help get me there!
What role does fashion play in your life?
Fashion is one’s personality and I have always striven to be a little different, although as I get older I feel I’m perhaps becoming more the same.
I like signature pieces that are bright and chic. I always wanted to be a fashion designer in my younger days and still maintain a fashion incubator membership, just in case.
What do you love about shopping at Fresh Collective?
I love how to clothes fit my curves and didn’t cut off at my waist. I bought so many outfits just because of the ease and comfort in the clothes. I also like the fact I can throw it in my bag and travel with a few pieces. I travel a lot and it’s easy to pack in my backpack and go.

You have some amazing projects launching in 2020. Do tell!
I will be launching a podcast, Calm after the storm, at the end of February 2020. It’s a passion project of mine that will enable discussion about survivorship, thriving, and transforming, one life at a time.
I am recruiting interviewees, so feel free to email me at email@example.com for more information.
I am also launching a course: 15minutesaday.ca as part of a virtual wellness clinic that will be make courses and integrative therapies available to the global community. When I went through my experience with cancer and conventional treatments, I truly believe the integrative therapies helped me heal. I want to share this fift and perspective with people around the world. Stay tuned on launch dates by joining my email list at amysyed.ca or @amy.syed on IG.
What do you want others to know about women working in health tech?
Health tech is an interesting space. Although the over 65% of the health force is made of women, the founders and CEOs in health tech are a male majority.
I advocate for gender parity and hope that more women join the future of health tech, so we can create more equitable technologies to serve diversity in our population appropriately.
Is there anything else we should know about you?
I am proud survivor of cancer and domestic violence. 2019 was a year of revelations for me and I realized that my story needs to be told. This is the inspiration behind my podcast and I hope everyone tunes in to see what I have in store in the coming month.
