What’s a typical day like for you?

I work at Darou Wellness seeing patients six days per week, so my days are usually centred around my practice. When I’m not at work, I always find time for a tea with friends, exploring the city, a quick workout, and lots and lots of meal prep!

What in your life is really important to you?

My patients are extremely important to me. I want them to feel well cared for, and know that as their healthcare practitioner I’m as invested in their health as they are!

Outside from work, balance is a huge theme in my life – I always strive for balancing being healthy with having indulgences, working lots with having fun, being busy with finding time for relaxation. I think this is a lifelong challenge, but it’s so important for finding happiness.

What would you like to be remembered for?

Being genuine, always striving to be better than yesterday, and for being dedicated to making my family, friends, and patients happier and healthier.

What role does fashion play in your life?

I love to express myself through fashion, and my wardrobe really reflects the different roles I have in my life. I often go from business professional, to hipster exploring the city, to workout gear, to chic date night outfit all in one day. I always want to look as good on the outside as I feel on the inside :).

What do you love about shopping at Fresh Collective?

I love supporting local businesses and local designers. Fresh does an amazing job of sourcing beautiful, unique pieces that can augment anyone’s wardrobe.

What do you have that you want to promote?

I’m a Naturopathic Doctor working in the Queen West area of Toronto at the Darou Wellness clinic. One service that I’d like to promote which I now provide is IV (intravenous) nutrient therapy to patients.

IV therapy allows us to provide a higher dose of vitamins and minerals directly into the body that we wouldn’t otherwise be able to achieve through nutrition and supplements. This is especially helpful for people with high-demand, busy lifestyles who want to perform at their best.

IV therapy provides a great energy boost, supports mood, boosts the immune system (great if you’re getting sick!), helps healing and recovery from injury, surgery, and marathon/high-intensity athletic training, and so much more. Check out the Darou Wellness website more info. Appointments are available online.

What is your clinical focus as a Naturopathic Doctor? What is the nature of your approach with your patients?

I have a clinical focus in treating digestion (such as IBS, bloating, SIBO, indigestion) and autoimmune disease (such as Crohn’s, colitis, RA, and Hashimoto’s) in my practice.

My approach is strictly evidence-based, meaning I use lab testing to develop a targeted treatment plan, and I only prescribe treatments that have quality research studies to support their use.

It’s also very important to me that my patients are in control of their own health, so I spend a lot of time teaching my patients about what their test results mean, why they’re not feeling well, and how our treatment plan will improve their health.

What first attracted you to the study and pursuit of a career in Naturopathic Medicine?

Through my own health journey, I learned the profound impact of treating the underlying cause of health conditions with natural supplements, nutrition, and lifestyle recommendations.

As a Naturopathic Doctor, I love that I have the privilege of spending the necessary time with my patients to learn every aspect of their health so that I can treat the whole person and address the underlying cause of health conditions. In my experience, this is the best way to achieve true health and wellness.

Is there anything else we should know about you?

I absolutely love public speaking (wild, right?), so I provide health seminars for Toronto businesses and groups. If you are part of a networking group, have a corporate wellness program, or lunch and learn series at work, I would be happy to connect with you about booking a health seminar.
