What’s a typical day like for you?

I wake up, get out of bed and drag a comb across my head, and my daughter’s and my son’s. My partner and I jostle our way out of the house with lunches made and hopefully smiles on all our faces to start our days.

I work for the Ontario Medical Association’s Physician Health Program – a service that supports doctors with mental health and/or addictions across the province.

I speak to doctors over the phone and in person and work with their treating clinicians, workplaces, regulatory bodies and even family members to get physicians the treatment and support they need to regain their health and well being and return to work so thousands of Ontarians can get the quality care that doctors provide every day.

It’s meaningful work that makes me proud. I then come home to take care of my own family – supper, homework, fun and bedtime.

What in your life is really important to you?

Simple but important things – my family; enjoying time together; being outdoors; celebrating the little things. An example is we just organized a birthday party for our puppy Buddy who just turned one.

What would you like to be remembered for?

“Try to leave the earth a better place than when you arrived.” – unknown. I would like to say that at end of my days I’ve lived accordingly.

What role does fashion play in your life?

I usually go for comfort but know that fashion has an impact not only on how I feel about myself and how the world responds to me.

I would love a personal fashion consultant to get me out of the door on a daily basis – fortunately my husband is very mindful in this domain and I trust his judgment.

This is one other reason I love Fresh Collective because the staff provide honest and helpful feedback and help me find a look that is right for me.

What do you have that you want to promote?

If I could promote anything it would be to ensure that everyone takes care of themselves and their loved ones with regards to their mental health.

As a society we are becoming more aware of how prevalent mental health and addictions are however resources are not easily accessed.
