What’s a typical day like for you?
I’m a night owl (I do my best work from 8pm-midnight and bedtime is usually 2am), so my mornings are my own to linger in.
It takes me a while to fully wake up, so I intentionally take the time in bed to reflect on my goals for the day and whatever it is I’m going through personally.
When I eventually get up, I have an Americano and listen to Motown and read or journal then make my way to a cafe to cowork with friends.
On my way home, I’ll pick up what calls out to me at the greengrocer and get inspired to make it into something delicious for dinner. I’ll browse Pinterest for menu inspiration for my next retreat or catering event (I get realllllly into this).
A little later, I’ll have a lavender Epsom salt bath in my clawfoot tub and let out the worries of the day, followed by putting in those ‘best’ work hours and afterwards might watch an episode or two on Netflix (Chef’s Table, anyone?!) before meditating and going to bed.

What in your life is really important to you?
Integrity. Community. Inner Exploration. Nourishing the self through: food cooked with love, intentional creativity and authentic connection.
What would you like to be remembered for?
Creating and holding a space (literal and/or energetic) where others felt comfortable to show up as themselves and be well fed on every level, be it through a beautiful aesthetic setting, perfectly buttery bite of pastry, or via listening – truly listening to them.
What role does fashion play in your life?
I love feeling like myself, as I find it helps when representing my business and helps me to show up more fully in my daily interactions.
I’ve intentionally invested time and gotten help via my friend and style guru Rebecca Jacobs (www.rebeccajacobs.style) to discover what colours, patterns, and silhouettes best suit my body and my spirit. Working with her changed my life!
What do you love about shopping at Fresh Collective?
I love supporting Canadian designers!
How did you go about creating Nurture: A Retreat?
A few years ago, I was burned out personally and creatively and needed a way back to myself. I needed to find that space where compassion reigned and to put myself first on my priority list.
I responded to this call by actually listening to the things my soul was asking me to do because it simply loved doing them.
For me it was singing, cooking, writing, photography. I immersed myself in my creative life and discovered a solid, grounded foundation from which to navigate those ups and downs which were previously throwing me off my game.
This approach transformed every part of my life and, significantly, my relationship with myself. I thought: what if I create a space where others can get in touch with this in themselves too?
While ALL humans benefit from nurturing a self care practice, I was particularly drawn to serve entrepreneurs, as I am passionate about their talents, creativity and contribution to our world.
The tendency for entrepreneurs to work in isolation and to be lacking in support for the personal repercussions of choosing this lifestyle is high and I felt deeply moved to feed them (physically and emotionally, through food, beauty, attention to detail and aesthetic) and foster community and connection. Nurture: A Retreat and its other offerings & events came from this space.
How does fashion and personal style play into Nurture: A Retreat?
Hilariously, I bought a shirt the other day because it matched the colours of my website!
Since I AM my brand, I like to ‘wear’ my brand. This means attention to detail in the origins of my clothes, the sensual feel of the fabric on my skin, the integrity of the garment and the care with which each outfit is put together.
To me, dressing myself and shopping for myself in a way that resonates with my business and my spirit (to me they are inseparable) IS a form of creative self care.
