Name: Stefanie Fiore
Occupation: Creative Director at Crrumb, a digital design agency that specializes in web design and illustration.
Lifestyle: Aspiring Crazy Cat Lady
At Crrumb, my job is to determine the overall creative strategy of a project, so I work really closely with our clients on the big picture concepts. A lot of my day is spent talking/meeting with clients, coordinating schedules, writing proposals, etc. However, I also do my fair share of actual designing and coding. Every day is quite different depending what I’m working on. This is very liberating for me, especially since I once craved structure and routine– I never thought entrepreneurship would be for me, but now I can’t imagine going back!
Friends and family (including my cat, Snookie). My life would not be the same without them!
What would you like to be remembered for?
For being brave. I’m not necessarily talking about doing grand or extraordinary things like skydiving or traveling the world. Instead, I’m talking more about the small, banal, everyday brave moments; simply living an authentic life with empathy, kindness, curiosity, and an open mind. It’s something I’m working on every day.
What role does fashion play in your life?
Fashion is the simplest way to express myself. I don’t overthink it, or take myself too seriously. I like searching for things that suit my personality and my mood. Whether I’m just having a low-key day or going out for a special occasion, keeping it a bit unexpected and playful is key. I have a weakness for metallic shoes, vintage button-up shirts in weird patterns (my favourite one features a stick-figure man who is juggling), and I’ll buy (almost) anything if there’s a cat on it.
I love supporting local designers, and at Fresh Collective there’s so many brands and styles under one roof. I also like the intimate, boutique feel without all the snobbery. The vibe is always right.
What do you have that you want to promote?
My digital design agency, Crrumb, is 5 months old! We specialize in web design and illustration, and we’re always looking to take on new and exciting projects. Our process is very holistic and collaborative. We don’t do cookie-cutter websites or pre-defined packages. Get in touch with me at email@example.com if you want more info!
Is there anything else we should know about you?
The first website I ever designed and coded from scratch was a Beanie Baby fan site in the mid 1990s. Yes, it had scrolling marquees, obnoxious animated gifs, a hit counter, a guestbook, and was entirely written in comic sans. I was ridiculously proud of it. Actually, I’m still proud of it! It was a product of its time.
