Lifestyle: Always trying to find a balance between my busy life and making time for stillness.

What does a typical day look like for you? Up early to go to the gym before work. Then during the teaching day I teach classes, do marking, prep and plan for upcoming lessons, conference with students and colleagues, attend meetings, and advocate for students.

What is really important to you? Helping students grow and learn. Also, growing and
learning myself.

What would you like to be remembered for? Empowering students to succeed, advocating for students with mental health and wellness issues, and being a role model for others.

What role does fashion play in your life? I’m in front of students all day so, to me, fashion has to be something that makes me feel confident and reflects my personality.

What do you love about Fresh Collective? The staff who are knowledgeable and friendly. I love that the clothing is unique, beautiful, and sustainable. Also, I love that I’m supporting local designers.

Top: Dakota Tee- Mandala Design $58; Ellie Lotus A-Line skirt- Mandala Design, $98; Shoes: Joni Heel – Miz Mooz, $170; Necklace: BurfurtART $64

What do you have that you’d like to promote? I graduated from a CAMH program and received my Certificate of Concurrent Disorders. With this, I got a mental health and wellness course started at the school where I teach. It will be the first in the school board and I’m very excited. As someone who has, at times, struggled with mental health issues I am looking forward to helping end stigma and be a role model for others.

Anything else we should know about you? I’m passionate about reading, tea, meditation, yoga, Canada, the CBC, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. I’m also turning 40 this year and I’m looking forward to all the new experiences and people that will come my way.
