Sometimes I like to filter my real life into the Fresh Collective blog… today is one of those days. SOooooooo I have a date tonight… a first date. I’m sure we are all familiar with the terror of trying to put together the perfect first date outfit. SO OBVIOUSLY I went into FC to find something just right. I walked out with the new Kabuki floral maxi skirt that I’ve been drooling over and a cute bangle and set about figuring out how to put it all together in an outfit that would be cute but carefree…
I figured I could take this opportunity to show you guys (and myself) that a bold patterned skirt like this is actually incredibly versatile. You may think that because of the print you could only wear it with a solid, plain top but in fact with a little creativity I found another fun option! How about giving new life to that old concert T-shirt stuffed in the back of your closet? With a few strategic cuts you can make it into a cute heat-wave-friendly tank top that can work with a bold skirt for an offbeat rocker chic look!
Here’s how…
*1.* cut the collar off just under the bottom seam to create a scoop neck.
*2.* cut the sleeves off just below the armpit creating a gentle curve up to the shoulder.
*3.* fold the shirt in half and use your first cut as a guideline to cut off the other sleeve.
*4.* try on and adjust your cuts until you’re happy with the fit.
TIP: to get a smooth, slightly curled edge, stretch the shirt a few times until it settles!
Finish it off with a cute pair of sandals (mohops!), a belt to cinch in the waist, a bold lip with minimal eyemakeup (always choose one or the other) and VOILA! A fun, casual and cute outfit, perfect (hopefully) for your night out!
Wish me luck!

You look amazing! I’d have never thought to try that.
Flirty with an edge. love it.
I think we all wanna know how the date went and of there was any kissing….
NOSY!
The date went well, and let’s just say the charm on my new bracelet may have been mirrored in real life that night…
MAYBE…
